The Consortium of Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (IHI) and Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO) has been awarded the EPC contract for Expansion Project of the LNG Receiving Terminal at Dahej, State of Gujarat, India with Petronet LNG Limited. (PLL). This EPC Project includes the 4th LNG Tank (148,000kl) and Regasification Facilities to double the LNG receiving capacity of the Existing Terminal to 10 million ton per year. The Project is expected to be completed by the end of 2008.

The Consortium led by IHI (including TOYO, Toyo Engineering India (TOYO-India), Itochu Corporation and MITSUI & Co., Ltd.) completed the first LNG Receiving Terminal in India in 2004 and is now in operation. The same Consortium led by IHI has been successful to receive an order of this Expansion Project through competition.

PLL was established mainly by IOCL, BPCL, ONGC and GAIL and has operated the Terminal in Dahej, State of Gujarat. PLL purchases 5 million ton of LNG per year from Ras Gas (Qatar) and supplies them to the off takers.

IHI' abundant experiences in the LNG field and the remarkable record of successful project execution in India by TOYO and TOYO-India will contribute to enable PLL to realize this Expansion Project together with Third Tank Project awarded to IHI on ahead.

Considering that the demand of Natural Gas in India is expected to reach 60 - 70 million ton per year in 2011 and that constructions of some terminals are being planned across the country, IHI and TOYO group will cooperate to expand business further in this field.
