Toyo Engineering Corporation, Japan (TOYO, Mr. Yutaka Yamada, President & CEO) was awarded an EPC management contract for chlorosilane plant by Dow Corning (Zhangjiagang) Co., Ltd. under silicone and silica joint venture of Dow Corning Corporation, USA and Wacker-Chemie GmbH, Germany to be constructed at Zhangjiagang in Jiangsu province of PRC. (around 100km northwest of Shanghai)
The plant is an integrated silicone intermediates and silica plant located in China to produce downstream products used in wide industrial and consumer applications from construction and lubricants to electronics and personal care, and the total investment cost of the complex will be several hundred million US Dollars.
TOYO provides EPC management service for chlorosilane plant as Phase-1 plant of the complex with full commissioning expected this decade.
TOYO plans to execute the project with its Chinese subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Corporation (China) (Toyo-China) and its Korean subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Korea Limited (Toyo-Korea), and TOYO expects to further expand plant construction business in growing China.
For TOYO, it is the first silicone and silica intermediates plant construction. TOYO was highly valued by Dow Corning in its more than 120 units plant construction experience and know-how in China.
