Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO, President and CEO Haruo Nagamatsu) has acquired the shares of Japan Infra Waymark Co., Ltd. (JIW), which provides drone-based infrastructure inspection solutions. TOYO will provide advanced inspection services using JIW technology.

JIW was established on April 1, 2019 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation (NTT West). JIW provides efficient infrastructure inspection services using drones and AI to contribute to any types of infrastructure inspections in Japan with the mission of "Supporting the heroes who support infrastructure".

TOYO has been diversifying its business field from EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects for petrochemical plants and power plants to O&M (Operation and Maintenance) support services by leveraging EPC knowledge. With AI-based JIW's technology, TOYO will work on enhancing its competitiveness in EPC and O&M business being more advanced and efficient. Furthermore, TOYO aims to serve highly advanced AI-based solutions that could be codeveloped with collaborative first ranking partners(*) as well as JIW by sharing mutual know-how.
