Toyo Engineering Corporation (TOYO, President and CEO Haruo Nagamatsu) has been awarded a large-scale photovoltaic power plant project in Agano City, Niigata Prefecture, Japan, by Etrion Energy 6 G.K. The plant will have a power generating capacity of 45 MW (DC) and is scheduled to be completed in 2021. The generated electricity will be sold to the Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc.
Etrion Energy 6 G.K. is owned by Etrion Corporation, a solar energy development company, active since 2012 with 11 solar plants already operational in Japan, controlled byunder the Lundin Group which is an internationally recognized group of publicly-traded natural resource and energy companies founded in Sweden.
TOYO has been awarded in total 10 large-scale photovoltaic power plant projects including 5 plants having been in commercial operation. With this new plant, the total amount of TOYO’s experience of photovoltaic power plant is reaching more than 700 MW, making TOYO to have the leading EPC achievement in Japan.
Photovoltaic power generation, a system that produces renewable energy, is expected to play an increasingly important role from global environment conservation viewpoint. TOYO will continue to work on renewable energy projects as part of its infrastructure business.
