TOYO has been awarded a project to construct a 500,000 t/y ethylene plant licensed by Lummus Technology Inc. of U.S. by Shintech Inc., a subsidiary of Shin-Etsu Chemical Co., Ltd., Japan. The produced ethylene will be supplied as feedstock to Shintech’s existing PVC resin production facilities.
TOYO has extensive experience in executing ethylene plant projects. This latest project is the 45th to be added to TOYO’s ethylene plant track record, following on from the Malaysian project announced in August 2014. This is the largest project ever TOYO has won in the United States. TOYO’s performance and reliability led to this award out of world’s leading contractors. Expecting still more investments related shale gas, TOYO remains pursuing further projects opportunities in the US market.
