Mar. 29, 2011

We at Toyo Engineering Corporation would like to express our sincere condolences to the victims of the 2011 Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami that occurred on March 11. As we learned extent of the damage caused by the earthquake and tsunami, our hearts were broken at the sheer magnitude and seriousness of the disaster. We intend to do everything within our power to support the earliest possible recovery of the stricken region.

In the aftermath of the earthquake, we received many inquiries and well wishes from our clients, business associates, and others in Japan and overseas. On behalf of everyone at Toyo Engineering, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your concern and encouragement.

Our head office in Narashino-shi, Chiba Prefecture, was struck by the earthquake. However, damage was relatively light, and we have been able to continue to operate. We would like to apologize for any inconvenience to our clients due to the disruption of communications resulting from power outages and other problems. The situation has returned to normal in all departments and divisions. Nevertheless, as continued shortfalls in electric power supplies are anticipated, unpredictable blackouts may cause some confusion in the days to come. However, we will try to minimize the impact of such events should they occur.

To aid those in the affected region, our Company has decided to donate \50 million in relief funds. In addition, I have instructed all of our business divisions and managers to make utmost efforts to comply with repair and restoration requests from damaged facilities, which has been already carried out.

In conclusion, we invite you to join us in supporting the quick establishment of safe living conditions for the disaster victims and the earliest possible recovery of the devastated region.
