Toyo Engineering India Private Limited (Toyo-India), has been awarded a contract by NTPC Ltd. for 10 Tons per Day of Methanol Synthesis Demo Plant (Project), through competitive bidding. This Project will be built at NTPC’s Vindyachal Super Thermal Power Station located in the State of Madhya Pradesh in India.
This Project will use CO2 captured from the Flue gases and Hydrogen generated from Electrolyzers. Toyo-India is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Corporation, Japan (TOYO). TOYO will provide its own Methanol Synthesis Technology for this Project.
This Project is a part of NTPC’s initiative in the field of clean energy and an important step towards India’s commitment to address climate change. NTPC Ltd. is a Maharatna company and India’s largest energy conglomerate with roots planted way back in 1975 to accelerate power development in India. The total installed capacity of NTPC as on date is 67+ GW (including JVs).
With award of this Project, Toyo-India is pleased to contribute to the national goal of carbon footprint reduction.
