TOYO Engineering & Construction Sdn. Bhd. (TOYO-M), a subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Corporation (Toyo-Japan) has been awarded an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC) contract by PETRONAS Chemicals Fertiliser Kedah Sdn. Bhd., (PCFKSB), a wholly owned subsidiary of PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad (PCG) for the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) Improvement (AQUA) at their complex in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia.
The main aim of the project is to upgrade PCFKSB’s existing Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) and to cater to the utility waste from the new melamine plant. New Secondary Treatment- Sequence Batch Reactor (SBR) technology shall be used for removal of Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) and Ammoniacal Nitrogen to ensure consistent compliance to regulatory requirements. In realizing the aim, TOYO-M shall collaborate closely with the water technology provider, Organo (Asia) Sdn Bhd, which is known to be a one-stop global industrial solution provider for the water treatment.
TOYO-M shall carry out the EPCC contract on a full turn-key basis and the project is expected to be completed by end of December 2024.
